splatter iconWe live in Mount Gambier. It is a city in South Australia. The mountain used to be a volcano but it is extinct. In the crater we now have a lake which turns very blue in October (and all the summer months). It rains a lot. We have lots of pine forests and farms.

Our school is called Mulga Street Primary. We are in Mrs Dennison's Reception and Year one class.

It's about when a killer whale goes around helping Jessie. Jessie is a boy who lives at the beach in a hut. I like it because Free Willy is cool, so is Jessie.

I have just read a book called "Young Bloods" by Kerry Wakefield. It's about a boy named Deet who hates football. He lives with his Grandpa. Deet is very smart and also very sneaky. Deet is afraid of a man called Magic, who is a hairy man with tattoos all over him. Magic is a criminal and Magic tried to frame Grandpa Mac with illegal boxes.

I like how Magic is always trying to blame Deet and Deet always gets out of it.

I think this book is a really great book to read because the stories are funny and also realistic.

It's about three ladies called Nellie, Dottie and Lottie. Nellie is an opera singer. One day Nellie, Dottie and Lottie went to dig for gold and found a time machine but they left the time machine and keep on going and ended up in China.

I like it because the book has two funny poems.

I like this book because it is hard to predict what's going to happen.

My favourite book is "Napoleon" by Nette Hilton.

It is about a dog called Napoleon, he jumps into a basket with balloons tied to it. A big gust of wind blows Napoleon and the basket into the air. Napoleon meets a cockatoo caled Birdo. Birdo stays with Napoleon all the way through his long journey.

I like this book because I like dogs and this an exciting journey that Napoleon and Birdo go through.

It's about a seven year old girl who really wants a pet. Her mum and dad won't let her have a pet. They say that pets are too much work.

I liked this book because it is very interesting and it's a very good book.

My favourite book is called "Spud" and it is written by John Heffernan.

It is about a blue heeler and a dog called Pup. The blue heeler finds a dingo that he likes. The blue heeler and the dingo have 3 pups.

There is a girl who really likes the pups and she cares for them. The dad and mum never got on very well because the dad drank beer and frightened the mum.

If I had to rate it out of 10 I would rate it 10 out of 10.

You would enjoy reading it.

My favourite book is about a man called Andy McNab (who is also the author). It is called "Bravo-two Zero".

It is my favourite book because it is sort of like a journal about his time behind enemy lines in Iraq. He eventually gets caught. The torture he goes through is horrific. Eventually he gets released and goes back to the SAS to go do more ARMY work.

I liked it because of the detail it gives. If you wish to read this book ask your parents first as it contains a lot of frequent strong language. I would give it a 10 out of 10!

My favourite book is called "Animorphs The Encounter" by K.A.Applegate. I have number three of the series.

This is a book about a boy called Tobias who is stuck morphed as a hawk. His friends are Jake, Rachel, Cassie and Marco. They found a lake that the yeerks (aliens) were using as a supply depot and they are all trying to stop them from stealing the earth's water and air supply.

I rate this book eight out of ten because it's pretty easy to read and it's not very boring.

She decided to go and see the manager of the local newspaper and she gets to start a Teenager Advice column called Hatty's Hotline.

I like it because it's funny.

My favourite book is called "Sabretooth Mountain" and it is from the series Dinotopia. The author is John Vornholt.

The main plot is all about a young boy who is at a boarding school on the island of Dinotopia. During a school break he goes to live with his sister who is trying to find out why all the sabretooths are going hungry. They go on a special air balloon. They found out that there had been an avalanche. This was stopping the food getting through. On their way back the boy fell out of the air balloon and on to Sabretooth Mountain. A group of sabretooths found him. Now they have to decide whether the boy can help them. One sabretooth doesn't like him very much and he tries to get rid of him.

I like this book because it has a lot of action, is interesting and exciting.

My favourite book is "Matilda" by Roald Dahl.

The book is about a girl called Matilda and she has magic powers. Matilda's mother and father go out through the day. Matilda decided to walk to the library every day when her parents weren't there. She ended up reading all the children's books so she went onto the mature aged books. When she was old enough her parents sent her to school. She found out she had powers and she always played tricks on her principal because her principal was real mean.

I really enjoyed reading "The Big Friendly Giant (BFG)" by Roald Dahl.

It's about a young British girl who, along with her giant friend, experiences many adventures, some good and others bad.

The book has a predictable and happy ending which I didn't like.

Overall, I'd rate the book 10 out of 10. I enjoyed it so much I've read it twice and have started to read it again.

I would probably recommend it to children 9 up because it is easy and long.

Another story by the same author is "Witches" which is really good too but that's another story.

It is about a really smart but a smart alec boy. He always gets full marks. One time another boy got full marks with him. He got so jealous that he ate some ice cream that he thought made him smarter. Later on he found out that it made him very, very dumb.

I like this book because it is very funny.
