Disposal of redundant equipment

Old ICT equipment must be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way, consistent with government legislation.

Lewisham Council is part of a scheme that recycles computers and sells them to residents at greatly reduced prices. They are investigating the possibility of schools joining this scheme. Currently only schools that can deliver their old computers to the Laurence House car park can donate to this scheme. Contact the Lewisham ICT Support Desk to arrange a mutually convenient time to meet in the Laurence House car park: 020 8314 9980.

Individual schools in Lewisham have found charities which are grateful for old computers. If you know of a charity or recycling scheme that will pick up IT equipment please notify Tom Cooper on 020 8314 6489 and contact details can be posted on this page.

Schools donating working computers should ensure that:

Tunji Adeleye would like schools to contact him if they have redundant computers. The computers will be shipped to schools in Nigeria. All types of computer will be gratefully received and can be picked up from schools.
