Targets
Each school will be expected to set their own targets, bearing in mind:
- the existing attainment in ICT of pupils in the school;
- the Local Authority targets and
- the Government targets.
Targets should be realistic and challenging.
Pupil Targets for 2007
Government’s ICT performance targets are:
- KS3: 85% pupils at Level 5 or above in ICT
- KS4: There is no separate Government target for ICT at KS4, however, ICT contributes to the target for % of pupils achieving 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C (or equivalent)
A summary of the performance targets Government has set for Local Authorities for 2008 can be found on:
Personalised on-line learning for 2008
The Government's e-strategy sets the expectation that:
- by spring 2008 every pupil should have access to a personalised online learning space with the potential to support an e-portfolio
- by 2010 every school should have integrated learning and management systems (a comprehensive suite of learning platform technologies)
The Government’s e-strategy is called ‘Harnessing Technology: Transforming learning and children’s services’ and was published on 15th March 2005. This can be downloaded on:

Lewisham, with the support of the London Grid for Learning (LGfL), has made provision for all Lewisham pupils to have access to a personalised learning online learning space with the potential to support an e-portfolio, either through Fronter or Digitalbrain.
In order to ensure that more pupils use their online learning space effectively, the ICT Curriculum Team are providing school based and central training support for school staff.
